Ehren Urkunde

As a group, the Foehrer Musik Freunde began in 1967. A few years later, we began performing for the SVV Original Enzian at the

Long Island Bavarian Beer Festival. Over the years, we have developed a friendship with them and enjoyed sharing our German brass band music with their audiences.

In June 2024 we performed at their 50th Annual Bavarian Festival

at the Plattduetsche Park Biergarten and the Original Enzian honored us with an Urkunde (recognition certificate) for having played at all 50 of those festivals.

We have always considered it a privilege to be a part of each of these events and we are honored at this recognition.

Thank you Original Enzian!

Our history

The musicians

The musicians

In 1967, a common bond brought together 14 men with a plan that started from nothing more than the love of the German folk and brass music of their homeland.  These men wanted to continue playing the music and to keep alive the German musical tradition that they enjoyed in Germany; that first meeting lead to the formation of the Foehrer Musik Freunde.

Since that time our members have dedicated themselves to keeping that sound alive.  We are proud to say that many of these original musicians are still playing with the band today.  Our current group of musicians comes from various nationalities and spans three generations.   We all share the same love for the music and its traditions.

It is with great pride that we have spread our Gemütlichkeit at many festivals in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Germany.
