It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Elvira Hacker. Wife of 67 years to one of the founding band members, Leo Hacker; mother of our music director Tom Hacker and his brother Robert; and Oma to her 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren
Elvira passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday morning, 11/20. She was a regular attendee at band functions and her calming demeanor and smile will be missed by all.
Ruhe in Frieden Elvira.

In 1967, a common bond brought together 14 men with a plan that started from nothing more than the love of the German folk and brass music of their homeland. These men wanted to continue playing the music and to keep alive the German musical tradition that they enjoyed in Germany; that first meeting lead to the formation of the Foehrer Musik Freunde.
Since that time our members have dedicated themselves to keeping that sound alive. We are proud to say that many of these original musicians are still playing with the band today. Our current group of musicians comes from various nationalities and spans three generations. We all share the same love for the music and its traditions.
It is with great pride that we have spread our Gemütlichkeit at many festivals in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Germany.
Keeping brass band music (Blasmusik) alive....one fest at a time!
